Since Cinnamon’s publication in 2005, Linda has been speaking at middle and high schools about writing, publishing and hiking.
| "Linda
Nowak entertained our classes with her exploits of hiking the Appalachian
Trail and the complicated process of publishing a book. The classes were
captivated and it was a worthwhile experience for all." Marilyn Saunders, Immaculate Conception School O'Fallon, Missouri |
"Linda
Nowak's novel, Cinnamon, is a wonderful, high interest, lower
reading level, adventure story for teens. I recommend not only her book,
but an author visit to your school. Her motivating presentation addresses
the writing process in a meaningful way." Runa Melick, Groveport High School, Groveport, Ohio |
"Linda Nowak's presentation about the themes of survival and the conflicts that go along with hiking the Appalachian Trail really sparked the interest of our 6th graders."

Her book signings at the quaint bookstores in the small towns along the Appalachian Trail have proven to be worthwhile and fun. She has visited little towns in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire. She has met many wonderful people who are interested in and inspired by Cinnamon’s hike.
